This oldie but goody by Dusty Springfield:
This outdoor shower that I want (and will have one day)....
THIS book suggestion (I actually just ordered it as well, so you can look forward to my thoughts on it afterwards!):
"A thirteen-year-old girl and her father live in Forest Park, an
enormous nature preserve in Portland, Oregon. They inhabit an elaborate
cave shelter, wash in a nearby creek, store perishables at the water’s
edge, use a makeshift septic system, tend a garden, even keep a library
of sorts. Once a week they go to the city to buy groceries and otherwise
merge with the civilized world. But one small mistake allows a
backcountry jogger to discover them, which derails their entire
existence, ultimately provoking a deeper flight.
Inspired by a true story and told through the startlingly sincere voice of its young narrator, Caroline, My Abandonment is a riveting journey into life at the margins and a mesmerizing tale of survival and hope."
This quote:
“Build a good name. Keep your name clean. Don’t make compromises, don’t worry about making a bunch of money or being successful — be concerned with doing good work and make the right choices and protect your work. And if you build a good name, eventually, that name will be its own currency.”
— Patti Smith by way of William S. Burroughs
THIS day.... All the stars that aligned to make this blog post inspired me in a way that I haven't felt in a very long time. I need more of these days....
Saturday's photoshoot brought back a ton of very vivid memories of this gal (my living, breathing mannequin roommate that let me practically sew outfits ON her): I love this goober sooooo much and wish she didn't live so far away.....
This beautiful lion:
This weekend at the farm someone was cutting grass nearby and the smell of fresh cut grass is something I can almost get drunk on.... there is just something about a warm (but not too hot) day with the aroma of fresh cut grass ... and maybe even a hint of gasoline burning from a weedeater or chainsaw.... is that weird?
THIS post about the Ikarian islanders that live healthily on average well into their 90s and even 100s! After reading that post, I then did a search and found this other one where one woman says the secrets to long lives is simply that "We forget to die." Ha! Anyway, I really enjoyed reading about these people and hope you do as well!
This sight at a yard sale with a sign that says "Take the whole lot for $30" Ha!

This dapper man. Such a classic look! Love it!
This profile. Something about it... besides being a very handsome man ;)
This was one of the 'Golden Rules' in our house growing up.
...annnnd last but certainly not least:
Long phone conversations with my brother. These are the best, most random little bits of happiness on days when this happens. Even though he is much younger, I look up to and admire so much about him! Such an inspiration!
wonderful, eclectic post - love the lions and the Ikarians! Keep the good stuff coming!
