"Making time to go outside on a nice day also delivers a huge advantage; one study found that spending 20 minutes outside in good weather not only boosted positive mood, but broadened thinking and improved working memory…"

"Patterson has synesthesia, a neurological condition that, in her case, makes her see sounds and music as shapes and colors. (It’s a condition she shares with a number of famous artists, composers, and writers, including Vasily Kandinsky, Vladimir Nabokov, and Duke Ellington.) She used her condition to inform the design of “Graced With Light," which was inspired by music. While planning the installation, Patterson met with cellist extraordinaire Joshua Roman, who played Bach in the cathedral." - Read full article HERE

To be nobody
but yourself
in a world
which is doing it´s best
day and night
to make you
like everybody else
means to fight the hardest battle
which any human being can fight
and never stop fighting!

Encouragement is so powerful. I met a beautiful new friend yesterday that I will hopefully collaborate with on an upcoming blog post (or two. or three. or more). Priya Patel is an herbalist and nutritionist and is very knowledgeable about Ayurveda which is super cool to me because I had just recently begun learning a few things here and there (web based research) about different healing alternatives!! She seems to have a very big heart and I can't wait to have coffee with her again! She has just started a blog to inspire and encourage women and her first post is just beautiful!! Check it out HERE

....annnnnnnnd speaking of healing alternatives to medicine, I want to go into detail a bit about this detox bath I took Saturday evening... First, let me start by saying that I started to feel a little sick early evening - that dull pain deep within the throat that usually means the next day will be achy and then you will be in bed or wish you were for a few days after.... I wanted to get ahead of this funk, and decided to take a detox bath. This is the recipe I used:
3 C Epsom salts
1/4 C dry mustard
1/4 C ground ginger
1/4 C baking soda
Mix all ingredients and pour into a hot bath. It looks kind of pukey, but what happens next will BLOW. YOUR. MIND. Well, it blew MY mind... I got in as usual (I take baths ALL the time), and after 10 minutes, the uncontrollable sweating began. After 15 minutes, I Googled "bath mustard ginger", because I was starting to wonder what I was feeling... Yep, I came across THIS ARTICLE and realized what exactly was happening. Click and read for yourself! Pretty cool stuff.....
Well, it has been a beautiful day out (I was in an office all day...) and I just woke up from a nap, drank some coffee, and am heading out to the farm.... then off on a suppertime stroll with my boy under the stars......
