It's finally feeling like Spring out at the farm!! The dogwoods are blooming, the apple trees are blooming and the peach trees are just starting to grow back their leaves.... The pecan trees are still bare, and I can't wait until they are lush and green and shady. My hammock is the absolute best when the pecan trees are full. There is a constant breeze at the farm and the added shade of the trees keeps it cooler than any other place we have lived in Athens. This weather really made Baby act like a puppy - even just last Spring... I will always have a void where she held such a big piece of my heart, but I sure do feel her energy out here this morning!! Missing my girl and taking in the beauty of this Easter morning....
Last week, just a few days after Baby's sad departure, Christian uncovered a clay bunny head right by the front steps. I decided to dig out the rest of what was hidden yesterday and this is what was buried. How cool! We got a visit from an Easter bunny!! We have walked by this patch of grass for a year now and just an ear was peaking out that caught Christian's eye.....
I am gonna miss taking my naps under these trees without my Baby girl snoozing away underneath me...
Eli was feeling extra spunky and playful this morning.....
All the chickens are doing good in their old age. We are still getting eggs, just not as many as in previous years....
Milly-poo..... my little sweetheart....
Ellie is still the main attention seeker. She will follow you around and even block others from getting some love....
Ellen. What can I say about her? Well, she is just like her daddy. She inherited the bully genes from Eli and sometimes has to be seperated from Misty and Milly... typical teenagers, I guess.. ;)
This was the only picture I got of Misty this morning.... She was too busy trying to eat everyone's treats and dodging the consequences..
Pretty peach trees.....
This is the back of the property that we cleared and finally were able to make a little more headway on yesterday! I am so excited - I should have thought to take pictures of how overgrown this area was! It is amazing how differently it looks than when we moved here almost a year ago!
Apple blossoms.....
We have three little apple trees in the back yard. This one is the biggest....
Dogwoods.....
annnnnnnnnnd here is the Spirulina....She has been a little lonely without Baby, but she is getting tougher by the day and is now REALLY good at climbing up trees AND getting down! Yay! No more 40ft ladder adventures to save the cat!!
Our sunny little kitchen..... I think this may be my favorite room in the house. The morning sun just shines perfectly in here..... Baby's bowls are gonna stay put for a little while longer.... Spirulina refuses to drink water from her own bowl and will only drink the water from Baby's bowl... sweet gal misses her buddy.
