It rained ALL day today, and so after work I decided to catch up on inside cleaning. When I clean our small house, it's easy to get distracted by the volume of 'things' that I can collect. Christian's things are mostly all kept in his studio, but mine are allllllll over the house. Mostly clothes, but also little knick knacks and collectables along the journey of my life. I usually do a good clean out in the Spring, so I don't focus too much on the abundance of material things for now, but soon will be having an overhaul soon and ridding myself of things that aren't practical or special in some way. I have been working towards a vision of uncluttered, streamlined life, trying to adapt to only the necessities - and I work towards this vision, but because of my love of collecting (and keeping my vintage store well stocked), it is a struggle....
I will say that my next big project is to take down the hogwire fencing on the first fenced section at the farm and use it for horse grazing rotation. The rain the next few days will be a big help in pulling up t-posts, so that's the silver lining to all this rain I guess. The goats have so much already to eat, and I used to have to keep the horned goats separate from the disbudded goats at the other farm, but here they seem to be in better harmony and can share the same field just fine!
Here are some snapshots from this evening of my little happy space I call home....
I had slim pickins in the kitchen and kindof wanted junk food, so this was what I ended up settling with... Cajun spiced sweet potato fries and roasted broccoli. It wasn't quite what I had in mind on the way home from work, but it satisfied me....
This has been growing in my kitchen window since Christmas. It went from little green plant to HUGE red blooms overnight. Either that or I just haven't really been paying it any attention.... Either way, it was shockingly beautiful when I noticed it this eve!
I thought by going in Rose's shed, she would come inside out of the rain. Nope. She just stood there looking at me as if she was happy for me that I had a place to keep dry... ha!
textures......
...when you are stuck inside, what better way to kill some time than a nice Dr. Bronners peppermint bath for your dog? He isn't too crazy about indoor baths, I am guessing because he just had water hose baths his whole life, but he always sleeps sooooooo sound afterwards. I can imagine the peppermint tingle is a nice change of feeling for him....
annnnnnnnd this. Is it bedtime or what? These two are wondering why I am sitting up so much later than normal.
well, I'm off to dreamland, folks! Hope everyone has a happy week! Ours will be filled with mud fields and wet poop piles after this heavy rain storm that is passing through.. argh!
