Hello, February!

Wow. Last night I watched my first ever Super Bowl. Christian and I watched it together. We pretty much HATE sports too... BUT it was the Falcons, I grew up with a set of Falcon fanatic parents, and they had only made it to the Super Bowl one other time, and never won. So.... here we were.... acting pretty much like most everyone does on a Super Bowl Sunday, stiffening with each time the ball went into play, hoping for just one...more...touchdown for the ol' Dirty Birds. Then, first time ever a Super Bowl goes into OT, and the Patriots start off with the ball....and score. Well, damn. Big sigh, and off to bed. :(

Now on to recap the last week...
I made plans to create a nice little doable waking path for Eddie Ray's outside time. We have been walking him down the dirt road, but they just graded the road, and put some pretty big rocks down, and he was having a hard time on the road - as were we! I had a BIG job of clearing ahead of me, but now is the perfect time of year to do it. My projected plan below...... The arrow is pointing to a cluster of overgrowth that I have avoided since we bought this place.... but in order to have a complete loop, it must be tackled.....
The horses get to have fresh new paddocks on the weekends. I walk them over Saturday & Sunday mornings and then they return to their 'home' paddock each evening... Hazel takes major advantage of the walk over and goes as slow as possible so she can munch on the grass in between...
THIS. This is my task.....and THESE. These are my tools. Ha!
....I only cut the fence in one spot! Yay! No injuries to myself! Win!!
This little birds nest was in the brambles..... I stuck it in a nearby tree. Maybe a new bird family will use it this spring!
...chopped brambles.....
 ......and....
 burn, baby, burn!
....all done! A 1/4 mile little soft grassy loop for walking the Eddie... and it is a perfect way to check on the horse's fenceline several times a day!
 ahhhhhh!. Now time to relax....
....and some lazy Sunday pics of the crew....

Now, off to work! Happy Monday, y'all! I am already planning the first 'want/ need' segment of the year!  I am feeling more inspired about keeping up with the blog now that Spring temps are rolling in!
xoxo
