yeah, I know... I have been absent from the blog, and pretty much just have been letting Christian keep it afloat with the weekly mixes. I ain't gonna lie.... in a world that I am pretty happy to be in, a life that I have made pretty ideal, there are some heartbreaking things that I just don't have control over, that got to me.
A dog that I had gotten extremely fond of at animal control was euthanized for space. Space. Yeah. It made me a little bitter for a little while, and it was just better for me to refrain from writing about how I felt about the matter.
Anyway, in remembrance of Spock, I want to share some of my favorite photos of him and as much as I still get choked up when someone brings him up, that senior boy with the amber eyes and big grin, he touched my heart in such a way, that he deserves a spotlight here along with a few of my other projects that didn't get the life that I had hoped for.......

...another senior that stole my heart, but didn't make it out of the shelter because space was needed, was sweet ol' Walker.
he was a big ol' lap dog. All he wanted was to be held, cuddled, and loved. At least he got a little bit of that from the volunteers at the shelter....
...then there was Pine..... poor boy was so heart worm positive, he just didn't make it and passed away in the shelter due to complications from starting his treatment....
...Rocket was just a very large puppy. Too big to handle, very mouthy, and the product of someone getting a puppy and never putting in the time to raise him right. He was deemed dangerous (which he was unfortunately) because of his puppy mouthiness, and the fact that he was no longer puppy-sized....
Chip..... he made it out of the shelter, and received lots of love, but succumbed to cancer and lost his battle a few months after leaving the pound.....
Big Man also made it out of the shelter, and got an entire month of the best life ever, but due to unfortunate accident and encounter with a coyote, he didn't make it, and his family as well as many volunteers were devastated....
.... and last but not least, California. A young plothound, also euthanized for space the same day Spock was. He was a good boy, coming far in his last few weeks, where he went from being in quarantine, to making it out to play from the regular kennels....
I rarely post the sad side of the shelter dogs, but it is what it is, and I cannot deny that the last few months really got to me and kept me from blogging much at all....
With that being said, I had a blast with the shelter dogs that I advocate for this weekend at the PetSmart adoption event, and will be sharing that story tomorrow!
xoxo
